A New beginning at St Mary's HSS (WEEK 1)
WEEK 1 (12/06/24 - 15-06-24)
ON THE FIRST DAY OF TEACHING INTERNSHIP AT ST MARY'S HSS PATTOM ALTHOUGH WE HAD THE STRENGTH OF EXPERIENCE FROM THE I PHASE PRACTICE, WE WERE A LITTLE NERVOUS. SUCH A LARGE SCHOOL WITH 1000'S OF STUDENTS APPEARED TO BE AN AMUSING SIGHT FOR ALL OF US. ON THE FIRST DAY WE HAD A SHORT MEETING WITH THE HM, MRS RANI ALEX MA'AM AND THE PRINCIPAL ,FATHER NELSON. THEY BOTH GAVE US STRENGTH AND SUPPORT TO BEGIN OUR JOURNEY. AFTER THE PRAYER WE GOT THAT DAY'S SUBSTITUTION CLASSES AND KITCHEN DUTY. WE DIVIDED THE SUBSTITUTION CLASSES, KITCHEN DUTY, NOON DUTY AND EVENING DUTY AMONG US EQUALLY. AFTER WHICH EACH OF US WENT TO OUR RESPECTIVE CLASSES, MET OUR MENTORS AND STARTED OUT SMOOTHLY.
12/06/24 - On the first day my hour was on the 4th period. The class assigned to me is VIII O under the mentorship of Jai P Cherian ma'am. Both the teacher and the students gave me a warm welcome. I introduced myself in the class and also got to know my students. The first was all about informal interaction and rapport building.
13/06/24 - Thursday also I had 4th hour at my class. That day I got substitution in the UP classes of 5L and 6S. It was a really fun experience with the kids. That day in my class 8 O I began teaching the continuation of the chapter 'The Mysterious Picture'. I went for evening duty at 3.30pm.
14/06/24 - On that day I had kitchen duty and noon duty. It was a really nice experience. We helped the cooking staff in cooking and peeling and also served food for the students.
15/06/24 - It was a working saturday with tuesday's timetable therefore i had class in the 6tth hour. I had morning duty therefore I came to the school at 8.45am. I continued teaching 'The mysterious picture'.
